Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday 28th - All 8 Seen in E9

    Hi all,

We stopped by today to check on everyone, all 8 were found by the gate. We've sprayed them with fly treatment today, to keep off what's left of the flys but mainly mites this time of year.
Happy that 1669 is no worse for wear after eating plastic, his cheeks look a lot better and is no longer drooling.

As always thank you for looking!

Monday 21st November - All 8 seen, 1669 plastic update

    Hi all,

I found all 8 in L4 this rainy morning. All seem well.
I found 1669 he seems to have developed hamster cheeks again perhaps storing the plastic he is eating.

He was drooling a little bit when I found him but happily ate the cattle nuts I put down for everyone. We'll keep an close eye on him in the next coming days.

    Thank you for looking.

    Sunday 20 November 2022

    212/210/1640 and 1669 seen midday

1669 had a bag in his mouth again which he wouldn’t let us remove. We saw him again without it so he dropped it.

    Thursday 17 November 2022

    Thursday 17th November

All found on the track from the corral down to the sailing club. All fine and dandy. As I arrived it looked as though 1669 was chewing on a bit of black plastic ( piece of a bin bag maybe?). I had a scout around and couldn’t seen any obvious litter anywhere. Might be worth having a slightly longer look at this cow over the next week to make sure it suffers no ill effects from whatever it’s been munching on.

    Monday 14 November 2022

All seen at 7.45am today near K4 / L4 - All seemed good

Remarkably I was able to find them all in the mist this morning, all looked happily munching.

    Saturday 12 November 2022

Finch above and Tristan below eating gorse

Found three looking well but could not find the others

    Monday 7 November 2022

All seen in G3/H3 in the rain at 11.10

    All 8 seen at 13:00

I'm on site checks this week so set off to find the Hawley 8 in the rain today. Luckily I found them quite quickly right next to the Ammo dump in E5. All 8 checked and appear fine, gave them a few nuts to keep them sweet.

5 Seen at 7.30am today in the corner at L2

The 5 seen seemed fine, I went in to try to find others but couldn't get through some of the terrain

    Wednesday 2 November 2022

    2nd Nov. All Seen today

I'm on site today with my practical conservation volunteers cutting pine scrub in L3 and naturally we had a few visitors...well 8 of them! They came over as we set up and pestered the volunteers so I took the truck up the track to K4, they blindly followed, gave them some nuts and drove back to the volunteers.  Left them eating their cattle nuts just off the track in K4 at 10:30am.

All seem fit, healthy and happy to see me as ever.

    Saturday 5th October - All 8 seen

The ponies were grazing near ///toffee.foggy.directs at 15:00 this afternoon, enjoying the warm, sunny weather. They were all happy, relaxed...
