4 ponies found on the track by the cattle grid in E4 (by the corral). They seemed to have settled in fine, and all looked OK.
8 cows found by the ammo dump, in E6. All looked healthy.

4 New Forest Ponies added today
We have recently been given consent by the MoD to introduce pony grazing to Hawley Common. So we have put on 4 New Forest ponies today, with the 8 Sussex cattle.
Mixed grazing, of cattle and ponies, will help improve the structural diverity and mosaic of vegetation as they graze differently. The ponies will graze gorse during the winter more than cattle, which will be a big help as the high amounts of gorse in some areas of the site are beginning to be of concern.
We have run a trial pony grazing scheme with MoD consent on Long Valley Brocks Hill for a year and this has been very successful.
