Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 9 October - All 12 seen

Nicky came to check on Polly's leg at 13:00 this afternoon, and we discovered the issue seems to be with her front right foot. There's no visible cut or injury, but it's possible that a small piece of gravel is stuck underneath her hoof. In horse terms, she's "footy on the gravel" meaning she's uncomfortable on rough ground but seems fine on softer surfaces. She may also need her hooves trimmed again. We should keep a close eye on her to monitor any improvement, and if not, Nicky will follow up.

The other seven ponies were all doing well and were found grazing with Polly in the pasture near ///mimed.files.warp. Although the ground was quite waterlogged, the ponies were moving around fine. They were very friendly and came over to say hello.

It was also lovely to meet the four yearlings who were grazing in the gorse bushes near ///formal.obtain.film just before 14:00. They all looked happy and healthy and seemed to be settling in well. They were all looking gorgeous.
