December 29th December

All found by the vehicle bays next to the ammo dump. Dropped then two licks and they were VERY excited about it. No issues and trough is good, although quite mucky with vegetation now

 3.15pm - D7. All seven present and just getting up from a mid-afternoon lay-down. Looking good.

Found some of them around G4 to E3 this morning

Found 3 white and 1 brown spread out from G4 to E3 late this morning after the rain.  Looked a bit damp but otherwise OK

Seen near K2 at 10am today

Could only see 6, 4 white and 2 brown.  But was a difficult area to get close to them as woody and boggy

Wednesday 22nd December

All found in G3. They were very pushy today and uncle Alex had to tell a few of them off for pushing him, so be aware of that if you’re out looking. Gave them a lick and they are all happy and healthy. Trough all good

Christmas break protocol

Please note that the Estates and Grazing teams at HIWWT will have a skeleton staff operating over Christmas and New Year. If you need to report an emergency to us during this time, such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure, then please follow the procedure below. As always, please DO NOT use the blog to report any urgent or emergency issues. To report an emergency (e.g. injured or escaped livestock, damaged infrastructure where livestock could escape from a site): 1. Call the office on 01256 381190. 2. Wait for the answering machine message, which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call. 3. Phone the on-call member of staff, who will then respond accordingly. Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on call. If you are unsure whether a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make a decision on how to proceed. And finally, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all of you
