Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 3rd February - All 11 seen

The cows were all happily eating heather in the area around ///salad.mimic.shuffles at 11:20 this morning. They were all looking really well. Several stopped and had a drink of water from one of the big puddles. A short time later, steer 210 went and lay down in some bracken, where he started to relax and chew his cud. The other six soon lay down beside him.

The ponies were all found grazing in the wooded area around ///trembles.scope.caps at 12:10. They were enjoying lots of gorse. One by one, they came over and said hello. They slowly wandered out into the open and continued to graze in a south-westerly direction, getting to the area around ///dusty.ferried.then at 12.40. The light brown pony was particularly friendly today and was happy to stand and receive a long ear rub. Whenever I stopped, she gave me a gentle nudge to carry on 😄.

The ponies were relaxed and looking well. The three with the grazes on their faces continue to show signs of improvement, with their hair continuing to grow back.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.
