Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 30th March - All 4 seen

The ponies were all relaxing under the shade of the trees around ///expectant.mint.mental at 11:30 this morning.  Two ponies were initially lying down, but they soon got up to come and say hello.  They were all their usual friendly selves and were happy to be made a fuss of.   The ponies were all happy and looking really well.

At noon, the ponies ventured out into the warm sunshine and started to graze.  They cut through the trees over to the area around ///twist.tall.chucked where they started to eat grass and heather.  They slowly made their way around to the south side of the ammo dump, where they continued to graze.  The darker of the ponies was happy to be stroked on her back and sides while standing, relating in the sun.  She was losing lots of her hair.  I said goodbye to the girls just after 12:30.

Despite it being the weekend, there was some army team orienteering training taking place today.  There were multiple groups making their way around the site.

The ponies were all good today.

Over the next hour, they continued to eat lots of grass and gorse and slowly wandered over to the east side of the ammo dump.  They were all very friendly and were happy to stand and receive head rubs in the warm sunshine.

It had started to get a bit overcast, and at around 12:50, there was a loud clap of thunder followed by a heavy downpour.  The ponies continued to graze, totally unfazed, but I took it as my cue to leave.
