After a long search, I found the ponies back where I started at 16:55. It really was a case of four seasons in one day weatherwise today. They were both grazing in the area around ///like.laugh.cuter, not far from the entrance by the car park. Davinia came straight over, welcoming me with some soft nickers, before enjoying a neck rub. Polly came over soon after and gave me some lovely head rubs and gentle nuzzles. The girls were happy, relaxed and looking well. They were both dry, so had obviously been avoiding the heavy showers.
The ponies continued to graze in the surrounding area for the next hour. They ate a lot of fresh grass from both sides of the path before heading into the trees to the southwest, where they munched on some long grasses. They soon came out and enjoyed lots more long grass, leaves and gorse from the neighbouring thicket. The girls would regularly come over to see me and were happy to receive lots of ear, neck, and back rubs.
I said my goodbyes shortly before 18:00 and had started to leave. I looked back over my shoulder and saw Polly walking through the trees, following me. She was soon followed by Davinia.. I stopped and gave them both some more strokes and said cheerio again, only for them to follow me to the gate. I ended up staying with them until just after 18:25 and then reluctantly left. It appeared they didn't want me to go today.
Earlier, when looking for the ponies, I found some metal wire lying on the ground in the area around ///fetch.courts.flamed. I removed it from the site, placing it on top of some logs under the trees at the far side of the cattle grid around ///blanks.fury.column.
The ponies were both good today.
