Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Friday 4th April - Staff Check - all 12 seen

Found the yearlings resting in the woodland edge by the sailing club. Number 276 was his usual affectionate self. I noticed he has a spot of dried blood on his front left hoof. No obvious signs of cause or further bleeding, and he seemed in usual good spirits.

Warty yearling appears to have a small growth above his right eye. Nothing to worry about but will be keeping an eye on size.

Ponies were all dozing in woodland by the ammo compound. I spent a tranquil 15 minutes with them looking them all over with a few coming over for strokes. Davinia was especially friendly and rested her head on me for a snooze 😅
Nearby there was a helium balloon which caused much excitement when I picked it up to take it away, they obviously thought I might have something tasty for them.
Great to see them in such good condition coming out of winter!

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks once again for your efforts this week.
