Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 3rd November - All 11 seen

The yearlings were happily munching on gorse in the bushes near ///profiled.alike.fines at 14:35 this afternoon. They briefly popped out to say hello before returning to their grazing. The boys looked happy, relaxed and in good health.

The ponies were spread out across the area near ///jeep.insulated.saves at 15:05. They greeted me warmly as I approached, each enjoying neck and back rubs and offering affectionate cuddles and nuzzles in return. A couple of ponies had been grazing in the gorse bushes to the northwest, but soon came out to say hello, happy to have the gorse brushed off their backs and manes.

Around 15:35, Davinia wandered off alone into the pasture to the southwest. I went and joined her, where she was happy to just stand and have her neck stroked. She completely relaxed, bowing her head and resting a hind leg, giving gentle head rubs and nuzzles. After a while, we then moved onto a long shoulder rub, which she thoroughly enjoyed, shifting around to make sure I got all her itchy spots.

I returned to the other ponies at 15:55, who were either resting or grazing nearby. They were delighted to receive a few more strokes before I said my goodbyes at 16:15.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.
