Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Fri 13 Dec 24 (09.25 - 10.45). All 4 cattle seen, in E5/F5. Only 6 ponies seen in C7.

I met with Ranger Alice at the E9 cattle grid at 09.30.  We entered the area and found all four cattle

on the track just NE of the Ammo Dump Compound, (in E5/F5).  They were content to stand and watch April & I chat about them & other stock for about 30 mins.

April then returned to her vehicle and subsequently departed.  I then found 6 of the 7 ponies in scrub land just south of the SW/NE track in C7.  I hung around for about 30 mins as they slowly headed south. I circumnavigated and searched a wider area around them several times, but there was no sign of the other pony.

The unseen one is the dark pony with a large white patch on it's rear-right leg, just above the hoof.  It also has a faint white patch on the length of it's nose .
