Three ponies were relaxing in the rare sunshine near ///keen.sues.hook, close to the eastern set of tank pits at 13:30 this afternoon. They were very friendly, each enjoying long neck and back rubs, and rewarding me with gentle head rubs and nuzzles. The girls were happy, relaxed, and looking gorgeous.
About twenty-five minutes later, I found the yearlings near the western tank pits. They were relaxing and chewing their cud in the sunshine. All were friendly, coming over one by one to greet me, with several giving curious sniffs. Unfortunately, there was no noticeable change in the warts on the side of yearling 278's nose, though I've included a new photo for reference. The boys looked happy, relaxed, and in good condition.
Before checking on the yearlings, Davinia emerged from the gorse bushes by the side of the tank pit and came over to say hello. She thoroughly enjoyed a long neck and ear rub. When I was checking the yearlings, she stayed close by and frequently nudged me with her nose, wanting more strokes. Her persistence was amusing, but she didn't understand why she wasn't getting my full attention. Once I was finished with the boys, she was treated to another long neck rub.
At 14:15, I found the remaining three ponies near ///belief.websites.troll. They were also enjoying the sunshine. The darker pony was initially lying down among the bracken, but soon got up to greet me. All three were very friendly and enjoyed lots of strokes and rubs. The girls were in excellent condition and looked great.
Before leaving, I spent some quiet time with each of the ponies, saying goodbye to them at 15:00. By then, they had started moving towards the western tank pits, where the yearlings continued to relax and chew their cud.
The cows and the ponies were good today.
