The ponies were happily grazing near ///nags.forgets.glider at 14:15 this afternoon, enjoying plenty of heather and gorse despite the light rain. They were all very friendly, approaching one by one to say hello and receive some strokes. Polly was particularly affectionate, greeting me with head rubs and gentle nuzzles. It was wonderful to see how seamlessly she has settled back into the group.
After the initial greetings, the ponies returned to grazing, gradually edging closer to the yearlings, who were hidden deep within the gorse bushes near the perimeter fence. The ponies would regularly take breaks to come back over for more strokes, with many enjoying long neck and back rubs. As the rain got heavier, they sought shelter under the trees. Davinia and Polly seemed especially happy, enjoying extended neck rubs as they rested and waited for the rain to pass. All eight ponies were happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition.
The yearlings remained tucked away in the thickest gorse bushes until around 15:10, when they emerged near ///garage.clef.pushing close to the fence line. They were very friendly, coming over to greet me. Yearling 282 was especially friendly, sniffing me several times before giving my hand a few licks. The boys were calm, happy, and relaxed.
After spending some time with the yearlings, I returned to the ponies, who had begun gathering further south near ///crafts.living.cares. Most were resting, although a couple were amusingly stretching their necks over the perimeter fence to nibble on gorse outside the site, despite the abundance of it within the reserve. After spending some quiet time with them, I said my goodbyes shortly after 16:00.
As I was leaving, the yearlings had come out of the gorse and were happily grazing on heather in the pasture near ///move.stung.bootleg.
The cows and the ponies were good today.
