Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday 30th December - All 12 seen

The ponies were found near ///food.twinkling.clots, alongside the tank pits, at 11:15 this morning. Polly was happily munching on gorse, while the other ponies were resting. As I approached, a couple of them came over to greet me warmly before enjoying long neck rubs. The other ponies were just as friendly when I went to say hello, offering cuddles and gentle nuzzles. They all enjoyed plenty of strokes and rubs. The darker pony lay down while waiting for me to come and see her, but was still happy for me to approach and give her some strokes. After stretching out fully on her side, she soon stood up to receive more strokes. All the ponies were happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition.

Around 11:45, the ponies moved northwest to graze on the gorse bushes beside the main path. Davinia was particularly affectionate today, staying close and seeking plenty of strokes and rubs. Even while I chatted with Jacky and her husband, she remained at my side, frequently nudging me with her nose for more strokes.

By noon, five of the ponies had shifted to graze on the heather near ///channel.unfit.broke. They took regular breaks to come over for more strokes. Polly particularly enjoyed a long neck and back rub, relaxing completely as she bowed her head and rested a rear leg. Meanwhile, Davinia stayed nearby and quickly returned for more attention as soon as I finished with Polly. I said goodbye to this group of five shortly before 12:30 and checked on the remaining three ponies, who were contentedly eating gorse in the bushes near the western set of tank pits. They each came over to say goodbye before I left.

At 12:40, the yearlings were relaxing and chewing their cud in the gorse bushes near ///mops.slugs.headed. They were friendly, emerging from the dense thicket to greet me and be checked. Yearling 278 climbed down from the higher ground to say hello properly and gave my hands a few curious sniffs. The boys looked happy, relaxed, and in good health.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.  All the best for 2025 🥳🎉.
