Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Tuesday 15th April - Staff Check

All four cattle found by the ammo compound at 11.32. All healthy and no problems to report. The tick burden on the back of the black yearling is still there but seems to be causing him no stress. The growth around his right eye remains stable.
Hoping with the recent rain and flush of vegetation, they will start putting on some condition.

I then went to deal with the small tree on the fencline reported last week - that's now clear and I also stapled some loose wore further along to the posts.

    Found 4 ponies in D3 at 12.27
All well with no problems, stripping gorse flowers and coming up for brief strokes before returning to grazing. They were moving up towards the ammo compound.

Continued my search around the area for the other 2 ponies. Around 13.00, Diva split off from the other three and headed back towards D3, calling. I followed her and found the other two ponies amongst tall gorse.

So, all ponies and cattle seen today. Please be aware that all the ponies will be taken off site in the next week or so for their holiday in the New Forest. Will update when this happens so please check the Blogger before lookering , thank you 😊

    Kind Regards, Zoe
