Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 2nd November - All 11 seen

At 15:45 this afternoon, the ponies were happily grazing among the gorse bushes near ///dote.running.tops. As she did yesterday, Polly heard me approaching and came out to meet me, greeting me with soft nickers. She thoroughly enjoyed a long neck and ear scratch before the others emerged one by one to say hello and enjoy some strokes. The girls were all very affectionate, leaning in for strokes and thanking me with the sweetest cuddles and gentle nuzzles. After our greetings, the ponies alternated between nibbling on gorse, resting in the last of the afternoon sun, and enjoying long neck and back rubs. They were very attentive, with at least one always choosing to stay close by my side. The wound on the bay pony’s neck continues to heal nicely, and she was happy for me to give it a good check today. I said my goodbyes at 16:35, leaving them all grazing peacefully. Before finding the ponies, I had stopped off to see the yearlings, who were grazing among the heather at the edge of the woodland northwest of the ammo compound, near ///hides.nerve.exhale. All four were very friendly and came over for plenty of strokes and rubs. By 16:40, they were feasting on leaves from branches cut down by contractors in the far northwest corner of the site near ///ethic.conveys.takes. Each took turns to come over for a greeting and enjoyed back scratches while enthusiastically munching on the leaves. It was lovely to see them so happy and content. I said my goodbyes at 17:10 as darkness settled over the site. The cows and the ponies were all good today.
