Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 13th April - All 4 seen

The ponies were all grazing to the southwest of the ammo dump in the area around  ///stun.focal.inspector at 14:20 this afternoon.  They were enjoying the warm sunshine, but unfortunately, it had brought the flies with it.  Regardless, the ponies were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  They were all very friendly as usual, and took a break from grazing to come and say hello.  They were all happy to stand and receive long head rubs, which kept the flies away.

The ponies continued to graze and headed further southwest before about turning shortly after 15:00, when they wandered back to the southeast side of the ammo dump.  They continued to eat the fresh grass until I left them just before 15:30.  As I was walking off, they wandered off to eat some heather.

The white blazed pony has had some more antiseptic spray applied to the cut on her leg.  After the spray dried, some white ointment was also applied to the wound.  She was absolutely fine after both treatments.  The wound appeared to be looking better today, but is still going to take a while to heal.

The ponies were all good today.
