Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 20th April - metal object site check

    It appears the metal corrugated sheets belong to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Amphibian and Reptile Group (HIWARG).  I didn't touch any of them, but there was a laminated piece of paper beside one of the sheets.  They are part of an Ecological Survey - HLW 020.

    There were metal sheets at the following locations:-
    ///finer.projects.lows x 3
    ///entrust.measure.narrowest
    ///fools.headers.legwork
    ///flap.carpeted.compliant
    ///fuss.annual.toxic
    ///ships.currently.firm
    ///rejoins.rubble.reform
    ///trickster.bachelor.verve

    I found a chunk of sharp rusty metal around ///nanny.websites.typified that I've removed from the site.  I also found another metal object around ///loose.voting.chum.  This one I was a bit cautious with, as I've no idea what it was, but it didn't have any sharp edges on it. This one I left where it was.

    Other than some sharp tree and gorse bush stumps, which are all over the site, I didn't find any other objects that could have cut Polly's leg.  I'll try to do the next section to the east the next time I visit.
