Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 19th October - All 11 seen

The yearlings were happily grazing in the pasture near ///offstage.invested.sped at 14:40 this afternoon, enjoying plenty of long grass in the warm sunshine. They weren't bothered by my presence and continued grazing peacefully. After a while, a couple of them approached and gave me a few curious sniffs. The boys are settling in nicely, and it's lovely to see them exploring the site as a foursome.

Two ponies were found grazing along the side of the path near ///closets.eggs.finer at 15:15. They were both very friendly, coming over to say hello and enjoy some strokes. They looked happy, relaxed and in good health. After a while, they returned to grazing, following the path towards the entrance near the car park.

After chatting with a few birdwatchers, I found the remaining five ponies spread out near ///alley.mows.gain at 15:50. A couple of them were up on the higher ground, munching on gorse, but they soon came down to say hello. The girls were all friendly and enjoyed having their neck and backs rubbed. They also appreciated having the gorse brushed off their backs and manes. The ponies alternated between grazing and coming over for strokes, eventually regrouping in the pasture near ///lied.angel.clerk at 16:25.

Not long after, the group seemed to notice a couple of ponies were missing and headed down toward ///escapes.poster.rules. Four of them started grazing, but one pony looked around and neighed several times, trying to locate the others. When there was no response, she seemed a bit concerned. After giving her some comforting strokes, I began walking through the pasture toward the main path, and she followed. Soon, the others followed as well. When we emerged from the gorse bushes onto the path, the other two ponies were visible further down, and the group wandered down to meet them. After greeting one another, they resumed grazing. A few ponies came over for more strokes before I said my goodbyes just after 17:00.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.
