Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Sunday 13th October - Pony Update - All 11 seen

Nicky collected Polly shortly after 09:15 this morning. As soon as the truck arrived at the side of the ammo compound, all the ponies arrived to greet us. They were very friendly and happy to be stroked. Polly climbed into the trailer with ease, almost as if she knew she was going home for the care she needed. She'll be seeing the blacksmith this afternoon to treat her foot abscess. Once Polly was secured, the other ponies wandered around the west side of the compound before heading north to graze. There are now seven ponies on the Hawley Lakes site.

The four yearlings were grazing happily in the gorse bushes near ///clubs.unzipped.bars at 10:00, not too far from the entrance by the car park. They were enjoying long grass and leaves from the bushes for breakfast. They looked relaxed and healthy.

When I was leaving a little later, the yearlings had moved out of the bushes and were standing on either side of the path, relaxing and chewing their cud in the sunshine. Judging by their muddy legs and feet, they'd been grazing in a swampy area earlier.

The cows and the ponies were good today.

UPDATE: Polly has had the abscess cut out of her foot and was treated with lots of antiseptic spray. She's much happier now 😊.
