Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Fri 3 Jan 25 All 4 Cattle Seen at 12.45 in K4 and again at Approx 13.40 in G5. Only I Pony, (Davinia ?) seen at 13.07 in I4

I found the cattle quickly & easily in K4,

( & viewed them again later in G5, (no photos).

I only found one of the ponies.

It was the one with the white nose, (Davinia?).  I walked around that area for some time, but could not see or hear any of the other ponies.    I then spent about an hour looking around the whole grazing area, but I never saw or heard any trace of them.

I noted that there is still a broken 2nd from top fence wire 40 ft west of the cattle grid in E4.  This was reported via phone message to duty ranger on 28th Dec, but nothing heard since.  So I phoned duty ranger Ned and advised him.  He said that he'll arrange for someone to look at the fence net week.
