Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 29th January - All 12 seen

The bay roan pony was relaxing at the side of the ammo compound at 13:45 this afternoon. She greeted me warmly with affectionate head rubs and gentle nuzzles. She seemed pleased to have me all to herself, enjoying plenty of strokes and rubs. I was delighted to see that her eye looked completely normal today.

The other ponies had been grazing southwest of the compound but began wandering over to say hello at 14:00. They were all very friendly and enjoyed plenty of strokes. Davinia seemed surprised to see me, trotting over to greet me with soft nickers before enjoying a long neck and ear rub. Polly disappeared into the bushes to the south but was happy for me to join her for some strokes.

After a while, most of the ponies moved on to graze on the gorse and heather near ///minds.orders.slept, while a couple chose to rest beside the compound. The girls were all happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition. I said my goodbyes around 14:50.

The yearlings were grazing under the trees near ///slyly.angle.success shortly before 15:00. They had clearly been off on an earlier adventure, as their legs were covered in mud. They were just as friendly as the ponies, coming over for sniffs and strokes. The boys were all happy and healthy.

The cows and the ponies were good today.
