Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Monday 13th 12 ponies in D7 then C8D8 and back up to D7 no cows

I could not find the yearlings and tracker not working today.

Ponies scattered around..Davinia and another said hello. The one with NS mark and another broke the ice on the puddles with their hooves. We broke as many as we could. There is more water around and the trough is fine.

On the way back from the trough we saw the ponies start to gallop up to D7 and then they were all running around /kicking up their back legs chasing each other one chased Polly who slipped but got up and carried on running around. This went on for about 5 minutes..they had all calmed back down when we walked by them again.

    1. Lovely photos Jacky. Do you mind if I share them with the Wildlife Trust social media team?
Thanks for the note about the tracker, I'll look into it.

      1. Hi Zoe yes very happy for you to share the photos. I think the tracker was my phone as it worked from home later!

Tree is onto fence just resting on the barbed wire and not breaking or making it unsafe but might if left
