Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Fri 14 March (12.40 - 13.25) Found All Eight Ponies. No sight of any Cattle

Found three ponies in woodland north of the E-W track in B6/C6.   The were just standing, appearing quite relaxed, (inc the usually grumpy dark one with the white o/s rear white hoof & sock) with all accepting neck strokes.

I found the other five a few minutes later in the woodland to the south of the NW-SE track in D5.  They were also contentedly standing and accepting neck strokes.  After about five minutes, I heard the group of three calling out twice and the "five" headed off in that, (SW) direction.

Later, when I was still looking for the cattle, I saw all eight ponies together grazing on heather/gorse on the W edge of the ammo dump.  All eight appeared well.

Without any GPS I had a good search of all the tracks, both large & small and circumnavigated most of the external perimeter, but was unable to catch any sight or sound of the cattle.
