Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Saturday 14th September - Pony Update - All 8 seen

The ponies were grazing near ///snowy.they.ideas at 13:15 this afternoon, enjoying lots of fresh grass in the warm sunshine. The girls were very friendly, approaching one by one to say hello and happily enjoying neck and back rubs. They've all grown thick, warm winter coats. The dark pony with the white blaze had a fresh cut on her rear left side, likely from a nip by another pony.. Despite this, they all appeared happy, relaxed and in great shape.

Nicky visited the site this afternoon and introduced two new ponies to the group. One is a familiar face returning to the Hawley Common reserve, while the other is a newcomer to this site. Both were eager to leave the horsebox, meet the others, and explore their new surroundings. It was wonderful to see them both again, looking so good.

When I checked on the ponies again at 15:30, they were grazing calmly in the heather near ///starfish.ivory.cover, having settled in nicely. They greeted me once more, with several enjoying more strokes. The newcomer with the white blaze was especially friendly, greeting me with soft nickers and gentle nuzzles. She stood happily in the sun, enjoying a long back rub. The ponies gradually made their way toward the ammo compound, grazing contently. They were eating a lot more gorse than I've seen lately. I said my goodbyes at 16:15, with the ponies all happy and relaxed.

The ponies were all good today.
