Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 7th September - All 6 seen

The ponies were resting among the trees to the northwest of the ammo compound near ///utter.eager.wide at 14:25 this afternoon. They took turns saying hello and enjoying plenty of strokes, rubs and scratches. The ponies were very friendly, with several giving me head rubs and nuzzles. Many relaxed with long back rubs, resting a hind leg and closing their eyes. One pony, after receiving a long neck rub, lay down right in front of me and let me continue stroking her. It was great to see that the dark pony with the white blaze's front left leg has nearly fully healed.

At around 15:10, the ponies began moving out of the trees and across the track to graze. They soon made their way through the trees to the pasture west of the ammo compound, where they continued eating fresh grass, heather, and gorse. The ponies frequently came over for strokes and back rubs as they grazed. The darker pony playfully rolled on her back on a patch of wet grass right in front of me. The girls were all happy, relaxed and looking great. I said my goodbyes just before 16:00.

I removed a couple of sharp, rusty metal strands from the site, which I found in the heather near the area where the ponies ended up grazing this afternoon.

The ponies were all good today.
