Sunday 28th 2.30 my daughter saw the cows

     283 in L3 looking fine

The other 3 in M4 seen from the other side of the fence. They were very playful head butting each other

Sunday 28 Dec 25 (07.30 & 13.00) All 7 Ponies Seen. All Appear OK. Unable to find Cattle on Either Visit

Today is my 68th birthday, on which I always mountain bike with my mates.

So I went out early and was on site by 07.30 and quickly found the ponies in D6 around the pits west of the ammo dump compound.  They all appeared OK.

"No Fence" was not working at all, either at home on my laptop before I set off, or on my phone on site.  I circumnavigated the whole area and traversed allof the main tracks, but did not find any trace of the cattle.

My bike ride started and finished in an adjacent pub car park and so when it finished I came back to the area and again circumnavigated the range and traversed all of the main tracks, but again I was not able to find the cattle.  The "No Fence" was not working again at this time.

I did not take any photos.

Sunday 28th ponies all seen in I6 at 12.20 no cows

We came across the ponies all looking fine. Tracker not showing anything. Ziggy seemed to think the cows were in the duck pond/wet bit but we didnt venture in

    Saturday 27th December - All 11 seen

At 13:45 this afternoon, yearlings 276, 278, and 282 were grazing in the very muddy, waterlogged duck pond near ///tweed.melts.dozen. Thankfully, they made their way over to meet me on one of the small islands, sparing me from the worst of the conditions. The boys were very friendly, greeting me warmly and enjoying plenty of strokes and rubs. Yearling 283 was grazing in the gorse bushes to the north, so I carefully made my way over to see him, accompanied by yearling 276. He was just as friendly, stepping forward to say hello and enjoying a back rub.

After a while, I waded back through the mud to the island where yearlings 278 and 282 were waiting, with the other two following close behind. We all just about fitted on the island, and the boys thoroughly enjoyed long neck and back scratches. Shortly before 14:20, I said my goodbyes, but they followed me out toward the entrance area, where they enjoyed a final round of strokes before I went to look for the ponies. All four were happy, relaxed, and looking well. The tracker showed no active collars at any point before or during my visit.

Shortly before 14:45, while following the track through the centre of the site, I spotted Polly way off in the distance at the edge of the thicket near the northern fence line. As I crossed the pasture to meet her, the other ponies emerged from the bushes and all seven headed over to greet me near ///rules.inert.tabs. The girls were very friendly, each taking turns to come over, say hello, and enjoy plenty of strokes and rubs.

After our initial greetings, the ponies alternated between grazing on heather and gorse, resting, and returning regularly for more attention. They loved long neck and back rubs, relaxing completely—often resting a hind leg—and offering gentle nuzzles in return. They also appreciated having loose gorse untangled from their manes and tails. All the girls were happy, relaxed, and in good condition.

I said my goodbyes shortly after 15:45, leaving the ponies peacefully grazing as the temperature began to drop.

As I was leaving, I ran into the boys again, grazing contentedly in the gorse bushes on either side of the main path near ///failed.disco.shorts. I had planned to simply walk past, but they had other ideas and soon approached for more attention. I said my final goodbyes at 16:10 as darkness settled across the site.

The cows and the ponies were all good today.

Saturday 27th all seen in I3/I4 looking good in the sun 11.25

    Friday, 26 December 2025

    Friday 26 Dec 2025. (12.30 - 13.20). All 11 seen. All appear well.

As previously experienced and recently warned by Zoe, the cattle tracker is not working.  Today, both at home on laptop, (before departing) and on my phone on-site, (30 minutes later) it showed only one of them and that was in M4 area.  I actually found them in L2, just 30 yards in from the NE perimeter, near to the sty.  That tracker was still in L2 when I returned home, but halfway thru writing this it suddenly moved to the spot where I had seen them.

278 Jet was not in the mood for any attention, but 283 Jeans, 282 Jura and 276 J'Adore were all up for some neck/head scratching and strokes.

The ponies were all in the paddock area.   I did not spend much time with them, as I expected to have my work cut out finding the cattle in the swamp!  The ponies all appeared well.

Sorry about no photos, but my phone/laptop and not feeling very Christmassy towards each other, so I've left it.  I know if I try and resolve the issue,  I'll only end up giving one or both of them a sound "Basil Fawlty" thrashing!  I hope everyone is having a good time.
