Friday 17 July 2026. (11.10 - 11.30) All Four Seen All OK.

The were in the SW corner of K4.   According to NoFence I was close, but I was in a thick area of Rhodi.bush(es)  So I stood still for about five minutes, (ostensibly to get the app to up date and give my position relative to the boys).  However, before it did, I heard a snort and the sound of vegetation movement to my left.  I moved only a few yards in that direction and I could see them. 

 I like to thank H&IoW WT for enabling me those lovely silent five mins or so.   I was really enjoying just listening to nature, in a location I would never be, (unless looking for Jet, Jura, Jeans and J'Adore) until the moment shattered by a very load explosion from Gibraltar Barracks !

It didn't take long to get close to the boys.  They were in a lovely cool spot in deep shady cover within the rhodi bush(es).  J'Adore, Jet and Jeans were all laying down chewing the cud, while Jura was stood up only a few feet away and was moving about.  I guess it was him that I'd heard move earlier.  All were being plagued by fries around their heads

Wednesday 15th - morning

 Checked the water trough and all good.

Found the cows hidden in dense bushes at ///spruced.corrupted.beaker

They were lazing around chewing the cud.  It was impossible to check them over but they all seemed fine.

Whilst pushing through the bushes came across this Peacock Moth, always good to find other stuff

Tuesday 14th all seen scattered in J4 10.15

 All seen in the bushes. Jet and Jeans together. Jura and J’Adore a bit further away . Along the bit that used to be a little stream. Completely dry but lots of lovely grass.

Morning everyone. Just a quick note to let you know I will not be available this Thursday 16th to check on the cows. I shall be away but I'll be back for next Thursday. 

MOnday 13 July 26. ( 07.30 - 08.00) All Cattle Seen. All OK.

 All four were in H3/I3.

Jet was out on the north side of the sandy track, munching on grass.

The other three were all within 5-15 yards of Jet, but in the thick rhodi/gorse scrub just to the north of the sandy track.  It took  the shedding of the bike helmet and a few scratches n scrapes to get photos of them.  Thank God for my leather bike gloves.

 

As I was about to leave, Jeans and J'Adore came into the small clearing where Jura was and I managed to get a photo of the three of them together.

As I came back out of the "jungle",  Jet was still munching on the grass on the trackside.

Sunday 12 July 26. (09.15 - 09.50). Trough Checked - Sllght Leak All four Boys found & they are OK.

I checked the trough first, as the NoFence was showing the cattle as possible being in the heavy undergrowth.  As confirmed by Jacky's post, which I saw on return home. 

The trough has a slight leak near the water in pipe, which I photo'd - 

It's at the top of the NW corner.  However, it does not appear to affecting the trough filling-up and remaining full - 

I then rode to find the cattle.  I found Jet and J'Adore in lighter scrub in J4/K4.  They were eating young gorse.  At one time if was beside J'Adore, (who was happy being stroked) in a small area enclosed by a 4ft diameter tree trunk, gorse and thick Rhodi bush, when Jet decided he wanted in and then engaged J'Adore in a game of play shove!.  I extracated myself pretty promptly from that area, by creating, (with a fair amount of discomfort, not being blessed, (unlike the combatants) with a thick hide !

I had already heard one or two of the others a few feet further east, but still on the cusp of J4/K4.  So I scrambled through the thicker undergrowth, (the bike and helmet having been jetisoned even before finding the first two) and came upon Jeans, (stood still) and Jura, (laying down).

 Work were in need tomorrow so I will not be able to find the boys

Went out early today and they were in the really difficult area again. We got close but could not get onto the dense bushes
