Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 23rd August - All 6 seen

Four ponies were grazing by the side of the path just up from the entrance by the car park at 15:15 this afternoon.  They were all enjoying lots of fresh grass.  The girls were all very friendly and came over to say hello and receive the first of many strokes.  Despite a large number of flies, they were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

The wounds on the two injured ponies are healing nicely.  As a precaution, they've both had some more antiseptic spray applied.  Both were absolutely fine after the treatment and stood and enjoyed long back rubs.  Some close up photos of the injuries have been shared with the owner.

After spending a good while with the ponies, who continued to graze along the side of the path, I dragged myself away to go and look for the other two.  A search around the ammo compound, pits and surrounding wooded areas was unsuccessful.  I had just looped back around to the first four, who were now grazing in the pasture around ///pods.skins.nicely at 16:00, when the other two ponies made an appearance.   They both immediately came over to say hello, with the lighter pony making soft nickering sounds as she approached.

The ponies continued to graze in the pasture, enjoying lots of long grass, heather and gorse.  They would regularly take breaks and come over for some more strokes.  The girls had made it to the far side by 16:30, in the area around ///bother.potato.stood, when I said my goodbyes.

The ponies were all good today.
