Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Thur 8 Aug 24. 10.08-1016 All 6 ponies seen. All appear OK

As I approached enclosure at about 10.04 on the Sailing Club access road in E9, I heard a loud whinnying from the direction of the woods in E9.

I entered the enclosure via the cattle grid in E9 and as I headed north on the compound access road, I heard another loud whinnying, this time from my rhs, (IE the woods in E9.  Then two ponies crossed (east to west) the compound access road in front of me.

I entered E9 woods and north into E8.   From there I was able to look down onto the open areas of D8 and D9.  There were about 40-50 soldiers mustered in the D8 open area, while all 6 ponies were grazing in the open area of D9.

I moved down into the clearing and got off my bike between the soldiers and the ponies and about 50 yards from the ponies.

The soldiers moved off towards the E8 weeks,

after which the ponies approached closer to me with one close enough to stroke, (dif pony to previous days).  I was able to observe all six ponies grazing contently and moving freely.  They did not appear to have any issues.
