Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 18th August - All 6 seen

The ponies were grazing in the sunshine along both sides of the path just up from the entrance by the car park at 15:05 this afternoon. Sadly, they were all being bothered by a large number of flies again today. The girls were all very friendly and immediately came and said hello. They were all happy to stand and be stroked. The two injured ponies have had their wounds cleaned and antiseptic spray applied. It looks like another pony has nipped the dark brown ponies side since I saw them yesterday. They were both perfectly fine getting their wounds treated. The treatments seemed to give them a bit of respite from the flies.
The ponies continued to graze by the side of the path, with a few venturing into the thicket now and again. They would occasionally munch on some gorse. The girls would take a break and come over and get more ear, neck and back strokes. They were all very relaxed. By 16:05 the ponies had started to graze among the heather in the area to the north of the path near ///bulb.registers.mash. I said my goodbyes ten minutes later.

Despite injuries to two of the ponies, they were all good today.
