Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Saw all 6 Ponies Today, (Wed 7th Aug 24) between 11.00 and 11.15 in woodland just S of cattle Grid in C5.

I walked around the group and all appeared well.  As before the pony with the white mark on her face came over for a stroke.  After a few minutes two of the others did as well.  The other three kept their distance.

I rode to the area on my mountain bike, cycling the length of the northern border of  their area from L2 to B5 and the reverse on my way home. I was monitoring at the fence in both directions as I traveled and I did not see any issues.

FYI, when I spot the ponies, I get off the bike remove my helmet and sunglasses and leave my bike at least 15 yards away from the pony group.  This does not appear to be causing the ponies any concern.  Some have even gone over to my bike, while I'm away from it and sniffed it.

I took photos but there were issues downloading them from my phone to my laptop today.
