Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 3rd August - All 6 seen

The ponies were all happily grazing in the area around ///piglets.slang.snow at 14:50 this afternoon. I received a very warm welcome, with them all coming over one by one to say hello. Davinia made some gentle nickering sounds when she came trotting over to see me first. The girls were all very friendly and were happy to stand and be stroked. Davinia's front feet are looking fairly uneven and chipped again, but she was walking fine. At around 15:20, the ponies all started to graze in the pasture to the southeast. They were enjoying lots of long grass, heather and the occasional bit of gorse. They would all regularly come over to me for more neck and back rubs. Bewitched was very friendly and stood up for a long ear rub before moving on to a back rub. This allowed me to check the cut on her right shoulder, which continues to heal nicely.
The ponies slowly made it to the area to the southwest of the ammo compound at around 15:50 where they continued to graze. While they were eating, I had a search in the surrounding area for any discarded metal. I was soon joined by Bewitched for company. I found a couple of pieces of rusty metal pipe, which I've removed from the site. The girls continued to graze in the area around the ammo compound, spread out in ones and two's. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well. I said my goodbyes just after 16:30.

The ponies were all good today.
