Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday, 18th July 25 (10.15 - 10.45) Three Ponies in E5. Four Cattle in I3. All Well

I came across the dark pony on her own in the trees just to the north of the ammo dump compound.  Almost immediately, a mini bust went past, (heading from the cattle grid to the north, towards the compound.  It was towing a trailer, containing metal stuff, which was making a lot of noise.  The sudden movement and noise spooked the pony and she cantered around for about 20 secs.  However, she then calmed down and her two mates came around to join us, (from  the direction of the compound).

Both the dark pony and Polly were happy to receive neck scratches & strokes, but their mate, (Ms Grumps, as I've christened her) was not interested.  She was more interested in a mutual grooming session with Polly and then rubbing the back of her upper legs, (polite version) on a convenient fallen branch.

The boys, were located just north of the E-W track in I3.  Jeans, (283) was on open ground happily grazing on the green grass.  The other three were all under the tree cover about forty yards further NW, (towards the northern perimeter fence.  They too were happily engaged in grazing.  Both J'Adore, (276) and Jura, (282) were happy to receive neck scratches and strokes, but Jeans & Jet, (278) were not interested.   All four appeared content and well.

As I cycled home past the beach at the SW corner of Hawley Lake, the swan family paraded their signets and the sailing dingies on the lake, made a couple of good photos.

    Don't worry.  I won't start uploading my holiday pics.😎
