Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Possible Reduction of "Swamp" in K6, K5 and L5

As I was leaving the area today I spoke to some contractors and a Landmark member of staff at the entrance to Hawley Woods, next to the Sailing Club gates in L6

They were clearing two drainage ditches and a culvert. There were already two car-sized piles of debris that had been removed.  The two ditches head NW and NE from opposite the sailing club gates and so contribute to draining the standing water from the K5/K6 and L5 area.  The contractors advised that water had rushed into the culvert from the ditches when first cleared and headed into the culvert and out into Hawley Lake within the Sailing Club grounds.  It appears that the ditches had been blocked for decades.

This may make winter searches drier and result in fewer "no-sightings"

    Fingers crossed
