Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 1st February - All 12 seen

The ponies were together but spread out in the swampy area near ///plugged.hence.living at 14:30 this afternoon. They were all happily grazing, enjoying plenty of gorse and heather. One by one, they came over to say hello and receive some strokes, offering affectionate nuzzles and cuddles in return. Davinia was especially friendly, coming straight over to greet me before relaxing into a long neck rub.

After our initial greetings, the ponies returned to grazing, but frequently came back for more strokes and rubs. Several enjoyed back rubs, lowering their heads and resting a hind leg as they relaxed. The bay roan's eye looked great today, with no signs of any issues. The ponies were all happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition.

Yearlings 282 and 283 were grazing in the gorse bushes near ///congested.slap.also at 15:20, while yearlings 276 and 278 were a bit further northeast near the perimeter fence. The boys were content, relaxed, and in good health.

After spending some time with the yearlings, I returned to the ponies, who had crossed the stream and were now grazing in an even swampier area near ///theory.binder.harder at 15:50. Each of them came over for more strokes, with Polly and Davinia especially enjoying long neck and ear rubs. I said my goodbyes at 16:15, leaving the ponies peacefully grazing.

The cows and the ponies were good today.
