Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Tuesday 25th February - Staff Check

All ponies seen near the ammo dump this afternoon dozing in the sun. Some were very friendly and wanted scratches, probably because the flies were out in full force today!!
All well with ponies, no lumps, bumps or anything to report.

The recent sunshine has charged the nofence cattle collar a bit so it's now on 7% and able to track 'Jeans' and gang.

Yearlings seen by cattle grid nearest sailing club.
No. 276 has become the world's friendliest cow since I met him in November and eagerly approaches for head, face and neck rubs but if you do this for him, don't let him get bolshy...!

I can't remember if I mentioned but I'll be changing the battery early March when I can get some colleagues to help, and probably putting collars on all four yearlings.

    1. I'm happy to assist with collar fitting if i'm about. Just let me know when you are planning to do it.
